Mermelada Cocina Que Reconforta: A Hidden Gem for Authentic Mexican Flavors in Cancun

Great food, everything was amazing. Ivan was our server, very friendly and attentive. Jacqueline was the hostess, even she was walking around and helping the servers, she was very sweet and nice. Highly recommended if your in cancun. A little out if the way and not in the hotel zone but well worth it for some authentic Mexican food without all the touristy stuff.

Mermalada Cancun food is sooo tasty and service was excellent. David was an amazing server. This restaurant is a little walk from the main road but it is worth it. They have amazing coffee and unique drinks like Cafe De Ollo and their specialty Mermelada drinks. Ordered the Chilaquiles but was super impressed by the molletes!

The food here is AMAZING!!!!!! If you are looking for authentic local food with a nice relaxing ambience then this is a place worth coming to. We loved everything the coffee and the food were fresh and delicious. Staff was always attentive which is a plus.

This little hidden gem is so cute!!! The garden is lovely. The food was plated beautifully, and tasted great. Perfectly seasoned. There was live music, and the entire ambiance was just so enjoyable and special. Our waiter, David, was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our visit. We are so happy to have discovered this restaurant, and we will definitely be back. Parking can be hard, so use the valet service offered.

This is a real hidden gem! Like many of the great Mexican restaurants I have discovered over the years, Mermelada has no curb-appeal. From the outside, it looks like a drop-off laundry business. Parking was impossible, too, but... everything else was spectacular! From the attentive staff to a simple coffee through the gourmet breakfast, nothing was less than excellent. It was a cool day, so we chose to eat outside with a few others. It felt like dining on a friend's veranda. I have posted photos of the meal, but I can not remember the names of the dishes. They were essentially versions of French toast and sope, but to call them this really diminishes the quality and effort that went onto them. Unlike some high-end places, they did NOT take too long. The waiting between coffee and the meal was perfect, and the staff never made us feel rushed. This is probably the BEST breakfast experience I have had in Mexico in 20 years, and the last was in the Polanco neighborhood in Mexico City. The prices were "high" for local eats but NOT for the total experience. The price was less than an average breakfast in the hotel zone, and the quality SO, SO MUCH MORE! Just go, and you will understand .

Great coffee, good food, good service. I found the staff to be very professional. Conveniently located near the Quintana Roo neighborhood. I’m a visiting gringo and I was treated well. The staff are very respectful and polite. Arrive early because this place is popular. An Excellent value. I look forward to returning. Be respectful for the locals and make an effort to speak Spanish. Puede que tu comida sea buena? Enjoy!

The food is good! Well cooked and seasoned. Varied options and reasonable prices. Taking one star off due to service :( Overall the service is not bad. The only complaint is that at times servers do not stop by to pick up empty plates, bring water, or ask if anything else is needed, even though they are standing there wandering around.

We came to visit Cancun, Mexico and we came to this local restaurant away from the hotel zone. And when I tell you the service was amazing and our server Ramos was excellent, very calm and collective and always checked up on us. I give him and the restaurant 5 stars and will always come back here!
